Ken Zink, one of the most well respected members of our county’s law enforcement community, was killed in a motorcycle accident in Vallejo on his way to work on September 29, 2016.
Ken was held in high regard as one of the state’s premier narcotics officers. In 2014 Ken won the California Narcotic Officers’ Association’s Al Stewart Award.
Outside of his professional accomplishments and the litany of important cases he worked on in the county, Ken was a true giver who coached and mentored kids, volunteered on countless occasions for invaluable causes, and even adopted three at-risk children. At the time of his death, Ken was assigned as a School Resource Officer at Helms Middle School. Ken’s kindness radiated through every interaction he had with this community. It was an honor to have met him, let alone worked with him so closely over the years.
San Pablo Police Department has set up a GoFundMe account for Ken’s family. https://www.gofundme.com/2ryfmkk
